A Maldives resort child policy is a set of separate conditions, not one rule covering the whole holiday. The hotel room, meal offer, transfer operator and children’s club can each use different age bands. Give the booking team each child’s age on the travel dates before comparing prices.
Confirm the room first
Ask the property to confirm the exact combination of adults and children accepted in the chosen category. Maximum occupancy does not describe the bed arrangement. A room may accept a child using existing bedding while an extra bed costs more or cannot fit.
Request the floor plan and a written list of the beds and cots supplied. Check whether an advertised family room has separate sleeping space or one shared area. Two rooms requested side by side are not the same as guaranteed connecting rooms.
Check overwater categories individually
There is no reason to assume every overwater villa has the same child rule. For example, Anantara Kihavah’s family overwater category publishes its own occupancy and sleeping arrangement. A specific family product is not evidence that another resort or room permits the same arrangement.
Ask about any age restriction, acceptance document and access features, including decks, pools and lagoon steps. Choosing a beach category does not remove the need to plan supervision around water.
Read child dining offers literally
Children stay free and children eat free describe different inclusions. Confirm which meals, restaurants, menus and drinks are covered and whether the offer requires adults to buy a particular meal plan. Check the dates, minimum stay and room categories.
Do not reuse an older promotion as a current entitlement. Visit Maldives’ family promotion coverage illustrates how child benefits can be tied to booking windows and travel periods. Obtain the actual offer conditions for your stay.
Transfers can use different age rules
Confirm whether infants receive a seat, whether a child fare applies and what luggage allowance is included. Trans Maldivian Airways’ FAQ sets out its own infant and baggage arrangements. Those conditions belong to that operator and should not be assumed for every seaplane or boat.
Our Maldives transfer comparison helps identify timing and baggage questions. Ask for the full family transfer cost, not merely the adult rate shown in a package headline.
Children’s club access is another booking check
Ask for the minimum and maximum ages, opening hours and any requirement for a parent to remain. Confirm whether supervised sessions, activities and babysitting are separate services. A resort having a club does not guarantee that your child’s age group can use it independently.
For a particular activity, check the operator’s own age and suitability conditions. A club admission policy does not establish suitability for snorkelling, boat excursions or another external activity.
